LEGAL GUARANTEE

Kategatt items are made with care and attention to detail. They are made using high spec material and inspected at each stage of the manufacturing process. Should the items be faulty despite these precautions, the Customer may claim on the guarantee as per article 1641 and subsequent articles in the French Civil Code. The Reltex company will then proceed, at its discretion, to repair, replace or refund the items.

The guarantee only covers manufacturing faults and does not cover damage caused by misuse (e.g. transporting unsuitable items), neglect, accidents, rubbing, exposure to extreme temperature, solvents, acids, water, normal wear and tear or damage caused during transport (e.g. airlines).
The Customer is responsible for the items’ return:
– including packaging fees, shipping charges, applicable tax etc.

You must have your original proof of purchase to claim on the guarantee. Reltex customer service will then decide if the issue is covered by the guarantee. If so, Sopaliam Sas will inform you if the items will be repaired, replaced or refunded. Reltex is in charge of repairs, replacements and refunds. Reltex also pays any fees incurred to send the repaired items or replacement to you in the event of a repair or refund. If the items need to be replaced but the same model is unavailable, Reltex will replace it with a similar Kategatt model.

Incidental or indirect damage is not covered by the guarantee. Labour costs or damage due to work carried out by a third party and not our customer service are not covered by the guarantee. To the fullest extent allowed by law, oral guarantees are not enforceable. The guarantee provided is restricted to the item’s value.

Manufacturing features may be altered without warning. Padlocks, when supplied, are solely to avoid the bags opening accidentally and not necessarily to avoid theft of the items, its contents or forced opening by staff on the flight, at the airport or government officials.

The Customer is welcome to inspect the Kategatt bag as soon as it has been handled by another person. In the event of damage in transit, the Customer is welcome to make a claim with the transport company (insured against damage) prior to involving customs where possible.
